Joseph is an action-oriented dental public health professional with approximately three years of experience in the non profit sector. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Surgery from the State University of Haiti and a Masters of Public Health degree from The University of the West Indies in Jamaica. While working as dentist in the school based health project of the Ministry of Health in Haiti since 2016, he performed oral screening, provided preventative services and promoted oral health in Southern Haiti (Grand’ Anse Department). Previously, Joseph worked as CEO and Co-founder at Mobile Dental Care Service, an award-winning social entrepreneurship venture sponsored by USAID, for four years. There, he helped to improve access to oral health care in underserved communities in vulnerable communities in Haiti and Dominican Republic, in collaboration with local and international non-profit organizations. Joseph is currently the Cofounder & CEO of Smile for Haiti Outreach (SHOUT) whose mission is to improve oral health care for the people of Haiti and the surroundings through education, prevention, advocacy, and research. Through these experiences, Joseph has developed strong skills in public health, strategic planning, capacity building, community leadership. Joseph is comfortable with topics focusing on public/community health and has a strong passion for healthcare innovation and network building.
